Maybe you cannot use the word “rational” and the word “addiction” in the same sentence since that seems a little paradoxical… but let me explain.
Well, first let me start off by saying “Hello, my name is Brianna, and I’m an RTC addict… it has been 3 days since my last RTC purchase.”
And no, addiction is not something to poke fun at but I think we all agree that of the addictions out there, an RTC addiction is on the lighter side. I have been thinking about this for a few days and upon seeing so many blogs pop up about addiction to RTC, I thought I would add my view and advice to the pile.
It is always fun to give a little narrative about how conclusions are made, so I put my revelation about RTC addiction into a story format.
One day whilst working out, I realized that I was actually WORRYING about what I was missing on RTC. There have been times were I have actually stopped working out, rushed to my computer and checked. It was getting a little compulsive, my friends. I was not even thinking when a new item popped up sometimes; I would just purchase it because it was new! Yes, occasionally something new pops up that is a little out of my fashion league and then resisting became easy. It really should not be that way though, right? But, how does one become rational about an addiction?
After recounting the times I would rush to my computer during my workout and wondering how I could control this compulsion, I completed my final exercise. After which, a thought struck me: RTC is not going anywhere. They are flourishing in fact, thanks to all of us (Right admins?
)! The clothes are going somewhere, yes, possibly to someone else who was quicker at the draw (i.e. the “Buy It” button) than you. And if you see a new pair of killer boots, or jeans, a dress or a skirt, someone else could get your goodies if you are not fast enough. But (and here was part of my revelation), something else replaces the sold out boots or jeans… as fabulous as or MORE fabulous than the items before.
So, what is my advice to you? Probably advice you’ve heard at least once in your life (no matter what your age). Patience is a virtue. We all love RTC and want it to be around forever… ensuring that does not mean we have to purchase everything right this minute. The way to ensure the longevity of a business is this: we have to spread the word! We are all on the same team here. We are in it for the long haul and will be loyal customers for years to come.
Having said this… breathe easy my fellow RTC addicts and remember that a wardrobe is a work of art that needs to be built over years of thoughtful (and sometimes daring!) purchases. There will always be new clothes to sell because fashion is always changing. Remember- patience is a virtue!
