American Idol: My take

Ok… so this phenomenon has gone on since 2002. Who would have ever thought that this show would have lasted as long as it has? Its really just a spin off of Star Search.. which happened to be my favorite show as a kid and now this American Idol has become my favorite show as an adult… and I ask my self why?

For that I still don’t have a true answer; I love music and love watching people sing. I guess to see who I think is the best singer, who America thinks is a great singer and to see who will be the last one standing. This show produces some really talented contestants and its great to think that I can impact who I hear on the radio.. so maybe I have figured it out.

However, I don’t think the phrase “American Idol” is really relevant anymore.. once Kelly Clarkson won the first season, isn’t she truly THE American Idol? So who are all these other winners there after? Also, another question I pose: Howcome there are winners who have had horrible albums?

If you have done so well on such a drastic competitive show, how come you can’t soar with an awesome album? (Ruben or that grey haired guy, which I can’t remember his name cause I didn’t like his music from the get go). Yet we still restore confidence in the season to come, hoping that someone great will come as a result to our constant calls and text messages to the show. American Idol, what a weird phrase, a crazy conquest and a down-out fabulous show; it must be to be on the air as long as it has.

Will the Journey ever slow down or stop? Some people are saying enough already!! Others are saying give me more!!! Which category do you consider yourself? I’m in the give me more.. same belief I have when it comes to RTC!

So here are my thoughts on the contestants this season:

Adam: What can I say? This boy is ridiculous! He was born to sing; he is such a true Artist. I love it when they have people on the show that make a song their very on and change it up and it leaves you guessing what is he going to do next! He has such a great vibe and a connection to the song and to the audience. He is brilliant! So you know who I’m voting for!

Lil: She is fabulous also; when she picks the right song. Last night was not her best; I thought she would do well with Motown, but definitely not.

Kris: He is very bluesy/jazzy. I love his energy and the way he makes me feel when he’s singing. Again, he tends to choose the wrong song; which makes me think ugh no! Once people tend to choose the wrong song, I’m not a fan, because when I think “American Idol”- you better be freakin’ good with not so many misshaps.

Michael: Sorry but its time to go! Last night was a better performance for me but I don’t think he’s got much left in him to show us. I think he has shown us all he can do.

Danny: He is has a neat tone to his voice; he tends to be everyone’s favorite. I’m looking forward to see what else he’s got. Hopefully he can turn up the heat next time.

Megan: She is unique and that’s about it. Her voice is so raspy and she isn’t presenting with anything new. Time to go.

Allison: She is great, she is only 16. Hope she stays for a long time although I don’t think she’ll be around for much longer.

Scott: He is great but he keeps choosing the wrong song. I like him but I don’t think he’ll be around much longer.

Matt: He has more potential than he is showing us. I know hes got more in him!

Anoop: He has a great tone to his voice. I don’t think he’ll be the winner though but hes good.

I was sad to see Matt in the bottom 3 – I think he is so talented! Adam – a no brainer, right? And Kris – he is so cute I’d like to just put him in my pocket and take him home (ya think his new wife would miss him?) Allison – whether she stays or goes, she has a career ahead of her.

Hi, The gray haired guy you didn’t know his name that is Taylor Hicks of season 5. I think the show is so popular because everybody can watch it you don’t have to worried about the violence or bad talking in that show despite it is a reality TV show. I like the show since it has started and I try to watch ever episode of it too. I don’t think it end for awhile until Simon Cowell leaves the show his contract will end next year or the year after that (he said after his contract is over he is leaving). I think there will be one more season after he leaves but that be it. I think the ratings will go down after he does leave. I do disagree with the comment on Scott I agree with him picking the wrong songs. I think he stick around a bit longer plus he is a good singer not the best one around but still a good one to be around a few more weeks plus I like Scott anyway I be sad if he goes right now. I just hope Scott take the judges advice after this week performance. I also hope he don’t change his mind on what song to preform he did that on this week show should went with his first choice. The other comments on the other singers I agree with you. I just thought Megan should of went home before Alexis did. I also think this season is better in the seasons past because I really like most of them. I’m usually not to thrill with all of them in the past seasons (I usually just like three or four of them). I actually want to go see everybody on the Idol tour the first time I felt this way since season 2 (I wanted to see Clay Aiken on the Idol tour during that season) that I want to go.
