I know that “Pale is the new tan” but many of us still like a tan. The tan you want to achieve may vary from a deep dark tan to just a little bit of color. I like to be really tan in the summer and usually go to a tanning bed (I know this is not good for your skin) but there are times when I do not tan and rely on the tan in a bottle. After researching online and seeing which products everyone raved about I have tried many of the most popular brands and wanted to give you my feedback.

The one that worked best for me is Sevin Nyne Tanning Mist that I bought at Sephora. This is the newly launched self tanner by Lindsay Lohan. I may not be a fan of her but I am of this product!

This tanner gives a great deep tan with awesome coverage. There was no streaks, not messy, and smells great. This also did not rub off on my clothing or sheets. This ranked at the top of my list.

Coming in at number two is the Fake Bake products.

The Fake Bake lotion has been my favorite for years. This is the lotion I stuck with until I found the Sevin Nyne, but I will still use this also. Fake Bake gives you a great streak free, all over tan. This isn’t the best smelling lotion and you might see it on your sheets after you sleep but I found that this lotion gives you the longest tan.

Most of you have heard of or used St Tropez. This lotion is hugely popular.

This is perfect for the person that wants a nice subtle tan. I know this get some people really dark but for me it was just a little bit of color. This lotion did not rub off.

Coming up next is HSN Tan Secret Mousse.

They no longer make the mousse but do make a gel as you see above. This is a very reputable product. The mousse gave you very good coverage for a deep dark tan. The negatives were that is smelled funny if you sweat.

Famous Dave’s Tan also makes the list.

This product is good in every aspect. The only negative I found with it is that the lotion is white so it is hard to see where you have already put it….lol

If you are looking for a little bit of color and not wanting to spend much money the best inexpensive lotion is Palmer’s Sunless Tanner and Instant Bronzer.

This is a quick inexpensive lotion to give you a quick, non smearing bronze color.

**** I have also tried the Mystic Tan products and I really liked them. This has been a couple of years ago and I would recommend their products although I have not tried the new lotion that they have.
