Hot or Not? Volume 2 – “Pocket Shorts”

I bring to you ladies, the second in the “Hot or Not?” series. Today let’s talk about what I like to call “pocket shorts”. With summer coming we all love a good pair of sexy shorts. Shorts that make our legs seem longer and make us feel sexy. But where do you draw the line on short-shorts? Cue the definition of “pocket shorts”.

“Pocket Shorts” (pawk-et shore-ts) : Defined as cut-off denim shorts that have been made by the designer, or self-made by the owner, to be so short that the pockets hang out of the bottom. Generally these shorts will be frayed for more of a grungy, “sexy” summer look.  Reference example photos for “pocket short” mania:

This fashion, although not a new one, is making it’s way back onto the scene this summer. But personally I would rather it not. I love denim shorts, don’t get me wrong, but something about your shorts being cut past the point that shorts were intended is just a turn off for me. And heck, if you’re making these yourself and cutting them so short in the front that the pockets totally hang out like shown, I can only imagine how short you’ve made them in the back.

I am going to have to give “pocket shorts” a “NOT” rating. Point blank ,shorts can be sexy without being skanky. And please, if you are going to go ahead with a pair of “pocket shorts”, don’t try to dress them up with heels like you see above. Something about a classy pair of heels is ruined by seeing your ugly pockets hanging out. ;)

I don’t think they’re too short that the pockets are showing, but rather than the pockets are extra long. I don’t mind them though, it’s funky in its own respective way.

I say NOT. How can that look sexy? I hate it when my pockets stick out… I would definitely not try to pass that off as the latest fashion trend!

I go with the “not” rating – but maybe it could be sexy in a daisy duke, washing the car, not trying to be sexy kinda way…
