Living in San Diego, you tend to notice people on the beach. And while I don’t like to judge people, I have to say that there are reasons why certain body types aren’t meant for certain types of bathing suits. In this article, I’ll give a swimsuit for certain body types and a cute cover up to go with it.

The Curvy Woman

If your body generally tends to run on the curvier side (like me) you might think you can’t pull off a hot swimsuit. Well, you’d be dead wrong. With any of these suits, you’re guaranteed to look sexy and put together all summer long. Try this Oriental Bandeau Swimsuit with Detachable Straps (www.figleaves.com). It’s pretty oriental design is figure flattering, it offers great support for your girls, and has a detachable strap which creates two different styles of suits. It’s available in a variety of sizes as is priced at $98.

Do you happen to have a larger chest area? Not to worry. Hoola Swimwear offers this amazingly cute suit for under $50. Soprano Candy Bikini Top & Bottom offers amazing support for your girls, and has either a cute matching bikini brief or side-tie bikini bottom.

A cute cover up for either of these suits is this Crinkle Cotton Beach Dress by Bravissimo. Its halter style ties at the neck, its machine washable, and it’s the perfect summer accessory to any bathing suit. Its beautiful lace detailing is sure to make any woman feel dainty and demure. For $30, how can you go wrong? Both this and the Candy Bikini can be found at bravissimo.com.

The Athletic Woman

Show off your fit body with one of these uber cute suits. This Island Company Calypso Swimsuit is a bandeau style suit with a detachable loop necktie and full coverage on the bottom. Its cute yellow accent ties bring the whole suit together for one immaculate look. Prices range from $56-59 and can be found at islandcompany.com.

Want something that totally shows of your shoulders? Try Lacoste’s Collegiate Striped Halter Bathing Suit. Another bandeau style top that ties around the neck, its cute stripe pattern is form flattering and it supplies more than enough coverage on the bottom. The cut of the suit sows off your to-die-for legs and your sexy toned arms and shoulders. And, of course, Lacoste’s signature crocodile emblem is too cute for words! It’s avaliable in many sizes and can be purchased for $65.99 at lacoste.com

(unfortunately picture didn’t work when I tried posting.).

A cute cover up option for either of these suits is Victoria’s Secret Fly-A-Way Cover-up Dress. Available in black or plum, its halter neckline shows off those sexy shoulders again and offers enough peep room to get a glimpse of gorgeous tanned leg. Perfect for when you don’t want to catch any more rays but still want to look totally hot. You can purchase it at victoriassecret.com for $33.99.

The Petite Body

Show off your body in this delectable Ed Hardy Anchor of Love Swim Suit. This is perfect for less-endowed women who don’t mind minimal coverage. String top and string bottom are easy to tie (but I wouldn’t recommend jumping full force into a wave) and if you’re a fan of Ed Hardy, the heart tattoo design is cute. Definitely pricey at $156, it’s worth it if you feel like splurging.

Want something a little cheaper? Try out American Eagles Purple Polka-Dot Bikini. Its functional string ties are easy to use and it’s perfect for making your legs appear longer and accentuating your chest (even if you don’t necessarily have a-lot up top). It’s relatively affordable, at $29.50 for the top and $24.50 for the bottom.

Want a cute cover up? Victoria’s Secret has this great Terry Strapless Dress that comes in four classic colors (green, navy, white and black) and is really affordable at only $29.
