So as some of you already know, I am now an official Mary Kay consultant. This is a huge step for me to achieve my financial independence again and for me to get some much needed self esteem back.
I have always been a workaholic, all the way back to age 15. This week I found myself unhappy with where I was with my personal goals. I fully enjoy being a stay-at-home mom (working 1 day a week from home), but let me tell ya, it sure doesn’t pay the bills. I was always used to making decent money and having a sense of self, but all that has seemed to have gotten lost along the way. So after attending a Mary Kay mini-facial party hosted by my husband’s sister, I decided it was time for me to try something new.
Enter, Mary Kay. Taking the first step was the hardest. Deciding if my already insane family life with a husband that works 65 hours a week was too much to handle with a business on the side. But I am always up for a challenge, I love people and most of all I needed the money and some time away for myself to spend with other women. (Girl time, like the time we spend on CC!)
Anyways, fast forward to yesterday. I decided to start by setting up a merchant account and my personal Mary Kay website link. (My link is http://www.marykay.com/kimberlynegri). I figure that using technology as a tool will be a huge help for me, especially for those people who would prefer to order online instead of dealing with a consultant one-on-one. To my astonishment, one of the girls on CC was my first customer and it was so thrilling to know that people were rooting for me to succeed. I was ecstatic.
So today I had my Mary Kay debut party with a few friends and it was a blast. I was “sworn in” and we all had a great time with food, fun conversation and of course amazing beauty products from skin care to lip hydration to silky smooth hands. All in all, it was a very successful night and although I didn’t reach the sales goals other people may experience on their first day, I did manage to make a few sales and book another Mary Kay party!
So, to all of the people who have supported me so far, and to all of you who will support me from here on out, I just want to say thank you. You are all amazingĀ people and I thank you sincerely. Good luck to me!
