I have to say, I got excited about this post when I started looking over the accessories because this style is all about the wellies and Frye boots – a subject that’s been very hot on CC lately (Erica, I’m looking at you!).
So here we go!
How to Accessorize the Look
Shoes (not boots)
This is one look in which heels and flats get equal playing time – and often the same styles of each (read: Oxfords, both heels and traditional!). Ankle boots are a definite yes, and the more traditional they look, the better.

More open heels are definitely welcome – peep-toe wedges, especially with an ankle strap, are very chic and fit this look perfectly. Another good shoe is a t-strap heel, usually a dulled metallic – and if it has another unusual fabric like velvet on it, even better!
As far as flats go, ballet flats are a go. Flats should be either pastels or jewel tones, and if they’re embellished, it makes them even more perfect here. Try these on for size:

Boots
Yep, this is a style that loves – no, demands a serious pair of boots. Namely, real wellies and Frye boots. BUT you can’t just go wearing them willy-nilly every day.
“Here’s the rule for Wellies: Wear them with a skirt or mini or jeans or whatever looks cool, but only if the climate is cooperating. If it’s not raining and there’s no mud, don’t push it.”

Two different styles of Frye boots:

Don’t forget a good pair of slouch boots – they look great with some matte tights and a skirt!

For these, try to stick to more neutrals, like brown, navy, and black. Colors are great, but they don’t really work here. You want the more serious side of these boots – save your patterned rainboots for later!
Bags
For Posh Eclectic girls, the day bag is all about looking multipurpose. It’s big, but not too big, and has the perfect number of buckles and straps to go with your Frye boots. The ideal bag is similar to a leather satchel – boho enough to be chic, but not to the point where it doesn’t have any shape.

Now, what do you take out for evenings?? This is where Posh Eclectic gets fun, and really into the vintage, posh side of the style. Hello, feathers and sequins!

This is where you use that bag you found in the flea market that was so cute, but doesn’t quite go with a lot of things. Posh Eclectic owns that bag, and you can, too.
Necklaces
Ah, Posh Eclectic necklaces – the goal here is to add soft, feminine pieces to an already feminine look without going overboard. Hence lockets, roses, feathers – all of those are perfect.

It’s also good to look for some short-length necklaces, like loose chokers and multi-strand shorter necklaces.

Earrings, Bracelets and Rings
Again, you’re going for the antique, vintage jewelry look, so dulled metals, pearls, and cameo are very chic.

Now, here are a few Posh Eclectic Polyvore sets to finish out the blog:

This concludes the accessories portion of Posh Eclectic – now be on the lookout for the Mod style – Twiggy to Selma Blair to Zooey Deschanel.
