Cayla’s WAY past due shipment blog: part two

August 21st, 2009 by Cayla in Aude, Cayla, Cayla's shipment pics, For Joseph, Hudson Jeans, Left on Houston, anything goes, linQ clothing

So far, we have marked the following off of my HUGE list: MG sailor shorts, MG extended razor back tank, Zensei linen pants, Zensei fold over pants, Zensei jacket. 5 down, and 3458034985 to go. Let’s not waste anymore time, and get on to the good stuff!

Hudson Flare Leg Jeans (dark blue- not black) size 29

These are my very first pair of Hudson jeans to own; and although I am not *in love* with them, I do think they are super hot, and I cannot deny that I got them for a KILLER price (like 50ish bucks?). The fit is TTS, maybe a tad snug, but not cutting off circulation or anything. The length, however, is what bothers me. I would HAVE to wear a tall heel with these, no doubt about it- and because of the thick cuff hem at the bottom, and the flareness of the jean, (and my laziness, seeing as I have like 3 other pair of jeans that need to be hemmed still) I am hesitant to hem them. I am wearing a pretty decent heel in this pic, PLUS I cuffed the bottom once, and as you can see- they are still long. These will more than likely be my “going out” jeans, because they are a sexy dark wash, huge flare, which is super hot, and with a heel and a cute top- they would make the perfect denim for a night of dancing. All in all, I have wanted to try this brand for some time now, and I am glad to finally be able to add some Hudson jeans to my denim wardrobe (which is growing to be quite impressive, BTW, thanks to RTC :P )

I debated on these for a while, mostly because I am a cheap ass, and knew that if I bought one color- I was going to want the other, too, and I just wasn’t ready to spend that much doe at once… but then, these went on crazy sale, and I was on them like white on rice. I sized down, of course, seeing as For Joseph has proven itself to run extremely large on average. And boy am I glad I did. These are still a tad large, even a size smaller than I usually wear- but they are not so large that they fall off or anything. They are a tad sheer, more so than I was expecting, and unlined, also- something I was not expecting; but that is not necessarily a bad thing, because this means I can wear them during warm weather, and not sweat my butt off.

The length is perfect for an average size heel, or wedge; which is a relief- because these are supposed to be my “work” pants, and I would hate to have to bust out my stilettos to wear with these, just so they don’t drag the floor. The wide leg is very flattering- I must say. I am a wide leg/flare kind of gal, though, so this is probably why I think they are so flattering. All in all, I say that these are great casual/career pants, that are versatile and great to have around in your closet, in case you need some semi-dressy, but not over the top, clothes to wear.

Definitely, DEFINITELY size down once, if not two, when buying these, though. They do run large, and although I have yet to wear them, I could see that they would stretch out during the day, making them even larger- so keep these things in mind when purchasing a pair.

The Left on Houstin tank modeled with the white pants is super cute. It fits TTS, for the most part- maybe a tad small in the bust, but it doesn’t make a huge difference. I love the cut, color, and knit of this tank. It is very unique and casual but stylish all at the same time. I also adore how the back is cut out, with the large buttons– this adds a little innocent sexiness to the top.

The linQ cowl neck tee is awesome. It fits TTS/slightly large. I could have sized down, but the medium is alright- so I am just going to stick with it. The material is super soft, and flattering. The color is just gorgeous; and the cowl neck is perfect for work, but still adds some flirtation to the top, which makes it ideal for all sorts of occasions. Just be careful when you bend over in this- it will show off the girls in a HB! Wear something underneath, while at work- to prevent this problem. Otherwise, just let it all hang out- that’s what I do :D (jk.. kind of lol)

Cullen Gathered hoodie: night, Small

Once again, I love love love this hoodie (hence why I bought it in both colors). This, too, was one of those items I debated about for a while, before actually giving in and buying it. I am so glad that I did, though, because it is one of my favorite purchases to date. The fabric is soft, stretchy, and practically weightless- which makes it great for layering, or cool summer nights. The details are unique and quirky, which I like- and the black and white is very versatile. The small and medium differ little in the way they fit, because this hoodie is so stretchy, the sizing is very flexible. I love this hoodie, and I am so glad I now own it in both green and black!

Aude tank, 2

I love this tank. It fits somewhat like the Sworn Virgins tank that I have in green (can’t remember the name), but not quite as loose. The banded bottom is perfect, because it creates a bubble type look, that is super flattering, not to mention very comfortable. I love the straps, and the neckline of this tank, as well as the color. It is a versatile color, that goes great with khaki shorts, jeans, skirts, etc. The fabric is to die for soft, too.

I would say this tank is TTS/slightly large. It really depends on how you like your tanks to fit, but in my opinion, tanks like this are meant to fit larger, so, I stay with my TTS. If I would have sized down, it probably would have been too short in the torso, so, I am happy with my TTS. However, if you want a more fitted look, I’d say size down in this tank. I am contemplating getting this in more colors, because it is the perfect casual summer wear tank, that is comfortable, flattering, and just soooo soft, I could wear it day in and day out.

Stay tuned for more!!
