How to: dress for turbo kick

June 15th, 2009 by Cayla in Cayla, anything goes, fashion, fitness

About a year ago, I attended my very first “turbo kick” class. It is kind of like a mix between aerobics, and high intensity kick boxing; including anything from upper cuts to round house kicks, meshed perfectly with hip hop music, eye catching outfits, and sometimes even strobe lights (if your lucky).

The workout moves and music are pretty much universal, but there are several versions of turbo that are more or less intense. I learned a few different ones, and they are all so much fun, and are GREAT workouts.

Be Cool and Comfy at The Gym For Under $50

May 31st, 2009 by Missy in Missy, anything goes, fashion, fitness

I have to admit fashion has come a long way since my work out days. I also admit that my workout days were probably P.E.  in school. You know when you wore the spandex biker shorts with the big t-shirt. These days you can get clothing that is both comfortable and looks good.  I like the new line on RTC, Zensei. exercise.

Fitness Review #1: The Malibu Pilates Chair

April 29th, 2009 by Jinny in Jinny, Red Tag Crazy, Reviews, exercise, fitness, red tag crazy blog

I’m not one to really use that much equipment during workouts. I have resistance bands, balance and medicine balls, but I feel that is all you really need for a good workout, unless you are a body builder of course. Recently the boom with fitness tools has really increased, from the electronic ab workout belt to the thigh blaster, there seems to be a never ending list of things to make workouts easier and provide a “quick fix” to problem areas.

Eating Disorder Awareness: Anorexia Athletica

April 26th, 2009 by Jinny in Jinny, exercise, fitness, health

So I’m a bit late on Eating Disorder Awareness Week, but what the hey. I believe awareness is the first step in preventing many diseases. I have worked in eating disorder clinics and can tell you that there are many more diseases than Anorexia and Bulimia. Many people don’t know about many of them such as, EDNOS, COE, Anorexia Athletica, SED-NOS, PICA, night eating, BDD, Orthorexia, and Bigorexia, are just a few that are starting to be recognized as diagnosable eating disorders. In this post I’d like to discuss proper cardio and exercise in moderation.

Do you have a Wii? Do you have Wii Fit? Well, listen up, because have I got the “game” for you.
