College Life: “The Sub” Food and Dorm Cooking

May 6th, 2009 by Yoyo in College, Food, Humor, Yoyo, anything goes

At UPS, everybody who lives on campus has a meal plan that they (or their parents) paid for at the very beginning of the year. With those meal points you can get food from the cafes, the dining hall or the cellar. The cellar is like a mini-mart and pizza parlor combined. Our dining hall is endearingly called “the Sub.”

Eat in San Diego: The Corvette Diner

April 26th, 2009 by Kamie in Food, Humor, Kamie, san diego

I can remember this place being here since I was a little girl.  My parents used to take us kids here ALL the time.  Probably because my Father’s favorite car was the Chevy Corvette.  It didn’t matter what year it was, he loved them all.  It was his dream…and finally, his reality just a few years ago.  I give him a ton of credit though.  He had four kids by the age of 25 and 6 mouths to feed.  He didn’t have that extra money lying around…back then.  I’m 25 now and I couldn’t imagine!

You are going through the drive thru and you are in a hurry. You want something semi-healthy but not sure what to get. Many places make one choice seem the better by adding the word fresh or lite but that is not always the case. Well you will be shocked at what you should really choose. I was.

Live Healthier: Top Ten Items to Buy Organic

March 26th, 2009 by Missy in Food, How To..., Missy, Red Tag Crazy, health, red tag crazy blog, top ten

I know a lot of people think that “organic” is a lot of hype to raise prices while there are others that are all the way green. Well I am in the middle. A friends told me that the number one thing to buy organic was coffee because if you did not, you were basically drinking pesticide soup. After telling hubby this I went from drinking Starbucks Breakfast Blend to Starbucks Organic Serena Blend over night.
