Top Five Reasons to: Love the Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is billed as the most exciting 2 minutes in sports and I would have to agree!     This years Derby is on Saturday and I am getting pretty pumped!    I’m originally a city girl, growing up outside of Chicago where there just really aren’t a lot of horses.    Then in vet school my whole perspective changed.   Suddenly I was required to care for these beautiful and complicated animals, up close and personal.    The horses I met at the Ohio State University Veterinary School were so awe inspiring that I quickly became a wannabe “horse girl”.   I think the first time I watched the Derby was in the lobby of the vet school while on equine rotation.    Now when my daughter longingly looks at horses I totally understand!

Pet Care: The Dog Ate What?

Hi Guys – thanks for the awesome response from my last blog about Princess Daisy – the little broke n kitten!    To update – Daisy’s bandages have come off and she is doing great.    She still has some healing to do, but we are getting ready to send her to a foster home where she can have  more room to roam and act more like a normal kitten.

Since it seems that everyone on RTC loves animals ALMOST as much as they love fashion – I thought I would touch base on some newer (but common in most homes) that are toxic to dogs……

Make Your Earth Day Count: Meet Daisy

There are days that I wake up with legs sore from running the day before, back sore from working too hard, or eyes tired from staring at RTC for too many hours in a row.   It’s easy to slip into feeling sorry for myself – life can seem hard…   work, kids, husband, home.

My name is Kristin, but at work most people call me “Dr. Caudy”.  I’m one of the lucky few – I am a veterinarian.    It seems when life is dragging me down, my patients are always there to remind me how great life really is.    Let me introduce you to one of them.
