RTCares Movie Review: Read ASAP, and Go See Earth!

April 27th, 2009 by Stephanie in Earth Day, Red Tag Crazy, Reviews, Stephanie, red tag crazy blog, rtcharity

If you buy a ticket to see the movie Earth between now and April 28th (even if you’re purchasing a ticket to see it at a later date), Disney will plant a tree in your honor in the highly endangered Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest.

Brian and I were unaware of this when we went to see Earth (the nature documentary from the directors of Planet Earth) on Sunday night.  Once I found out though, I decided I wanted to do a movie review to let everyone know what a great movie it is, as well as a great cause.

Make Your Earth Day Count: Meet Daisy

April 22nd, 2009 by Kristin C. in Animals, Earth Day, Kristen C, Red Tag Crazy, introductions, red tag crazy blog, rtcharity

There are days that I wake up with legs sore from running the day before, back sore from working too hard, or eyes tired from staring at RTC for too many hours in a row.   It’s easy to slip into feeling sorry for myself – life can seem hard…   work, kids, husband, home.

My name is Kristin, but at work most people call me “Dr. Caudy”.  I’m one of the lucky few – I am a veterinarian.    It seems when life is dragging me down, my patients are always there to remind me how great life really is.    Let me introduce you to one of them.

Avon Walk Update: The Countdown Begins

April 21st, 2009 by Kristen in Kristen, Red Tag Crazy, anything goes, red tag crazy blog, rtcharity

As I’m writing this, it’s Sunday night and I’m overwhelmed and excited by the fact that it’s almost here. We’re close. 13 days left until the Avon Walk. For those of you who missed the first blog, the Avon Walk is a 39 mile walk taking place May 1 & 2 in Washington D.C. to help raise funds to fight Breast Cancer. I have to raise $1800 to be able to participate (a great goal!). And I’m so close. I have just about $350 to go (visit www.avonwalk.org/goto/kristenwood for more info).

Often on RTC chick chat, we can find support, encouragement and there are always stories shared that touch our hearts. Recently, I found this article on a message board that I occasionally read and I just had to share.

Gown Town Results!

April 6th, 2009 by Jaime in Contests, Jaime, Kamie, Photos, rtcharity

Hey ladies… with Jeff & Jer blowing us off (okay, I’m not bitter…), I think it really hurt our numbers. I like to think of you all as a bunch of really caring and giving people (hell, we get some great deals on here, we probably owe it to others to give back!), and some of you REALLY showed that side. So, here’s the final tally:

Join Kristen to Help Stop Cancer

It hides and fights and cuts quickly through families, societies, and countries. It is indiscriminate. It does not care about race, or color, or creed. It attacks the poor and powerful alike, the peace-keeping and war mongering with equal speed and veracity.
