How to: Buy & Wear Your Top Ten Wardrobe Essentials (Part One)

May 7th, 2009 by Lucy in How To..., fashion, red tag crazy blog, top ten

As a college student who’s kind of strapped for cash and loves shopping way way too much, I’m more convinced than anyone else of the need for 10 go-to wardrobe essentials.

What is a wardrobe essential? Think of these as ten pieces that you can go to when you’re not sure of how to pull together an outfit. These are ten pieces that will look chic any year, (almost) any season, and at any occasion. These are pieces that last throughout the decades, that you can wear for years, and can be washed and cleaned without falling apart. These are the classics–wear them with whether harem pants or acid-wash jeans are in style.

Top 10: Facts About Stitch’s Denim

May 4th, 2009 by Paula in Photos, Red Tag Crazy, denim, paula, red tag crazy blog, top ten

Recently, I purchased my first pair of Stitch’s jeans. It was an odd purchase for me because I had never tried them on, knew them only as a men’s line of denim and had never seen anyone wearing them. Add to that the fact that I almost never buy any pants online unless I have tried them on in the store first. But, I was so drawn to them that I could not resist taking the chance. Some of you may have seen them in my blog

I love those jeans so much, I wanted to know more about the designer and I thought I would share with you what I found – just in case we get so lucky as to have them on RTC!

Top Ten: Movies I Obsess Over Part 3

April 15th, 2009 by Paula in Red Tag Crazy, anything goes, movies, paula, red tag crazy blog, top ten

“It’s Movie Night!”

Movie Night is a special night at my house. We pick out a family type movie we all like, set up tables in the TV room, and have a sort of ‘dinner theatre’. I started this tradition as a distraction for my kids when their Dad had to frequently be away on business. In order to distract them from their disappointment at him being away, I would try to find something each day for them to look forward to. Movie night became one of the highlights (so much so that they would sometimes ask when Dad was leaving again so we could do movie night!) We eventually had to let my husband in on the fun when he was home.

Top Ten: Movies I Obsess Over Part 1

April 10th, 2009 by Paula in Red Tag Crazy, anything goes, paula, red tag crazy blog, top ten

I have a thing about movies… drives my husband nuts! If I love a movie, and I mean really love a movie, I will watch it over and over and over again. Ok, maybe not every single night (that would be truly obsessive, right?). But, there are certain movies I will always go back to watch again and again. I suppose, for me, certain movies transcend mere entertainment and become much more. I don’t know exactly why certain movies strike me that way, and why others – although I may enjoy them – do not. Although my favorites tend to lean towards romantic and romantic comedies, I also have a selection of old era (black and white), and action adventure movies in my arsenal, as well. In addition, due to the abundance of movies my kids have acquired over the years, I have now added family type and some animated movies to my special list. So, in the next few blogs, I thought I would pick out my 10 favorites in each of those different genres and see if anyone else has had the same addiction.

For this first blog, I will list my 10 most favorite romantic movies. This was really hard to limit to only 10, but here goes…

Top Ten: Best Young Adult Reads Part 2

April 8th, 2009 by Paula in Red Tag Crazy, anything goes, paula, red tag crazy blog, top ten

As I explained in the introduction of Part 1, when my love for reading was stymied by mommy-hood, I went on a quest to find young adult or junior type novels that I could read to my kids for us all to enjoy. To my delight and surprise, I found there was a whole world of adventure, fantasy and imagination to discover in this genre of reading. Here, now, are my second five favorites.

Top Ten: Best Young Adult Reads Part 1

April 7th, 2009 by Paula in Red Tag Crazy, anything goes, paula, red tag crazy blog, top ten

I love to read! But, when my kids were very little I found it hard, ok impossible, to find time to myself in order to enjoy the pleasure. As soon as my kids seemed able to follow and comprehend a more involved story, I went looking for a novel that I could read to them, for us all to enjoy. What I found was a wonderful assortment of adventurous and imaginative young adult novels. Thus began a tradition of reading together that continues today, even though my kids now read on their own, as well. Although my original intent was to find books that would stimulate their imagination and interest in reading, I have found that I have loved many of the stories just as much as them (sometimes, maybe even more!).

Live Healthier: Top Ten Items to Buy Organic

March 26th, 2009 by Missy in Food, How To..., Missy, Red Tag Crazy, health, red tag crazy blog, top ten

I know a lot of people think that “organic” is a lot of hype to raise prices while there are others that are all the way green. Well I am in the middle. My husband wants everything that goes into our childs mouth to be organic and it gets expensive. A friends told me that the number one thing to buy organic was coffee because if you did not, you were basically drinking pesticide soup. After telling hubby this I went from drinking Starbucks Breakfast Blend to Starbucks Organic Serena Blend over night. To clear this up I started my own research and did not find coffee on the top of any list. It was rarely mentioned. (too late for getting my breakfast blend back). Here is my research:
