I am not a fashionista. I don’t have closets of name brands or $500 heels. Nor do I have a bank account that can fulfill that fantasy. Although I wish I did! Believe me; I’m no different than any other female who dreams big when she’s sitting in the doctor’s waiting room reading Elle and Vogue.
But this is not a tale of woe. I don’t linger on what I don’t have; I focus on what I do. First and foremost, I have passion. How could I not? I’ve been fortunate enough to find some steals here and there. A designer pair of jeans at a discount store, a silk halter dress on a clearance website. And I knew once I tried them on and saw what a good cut could do to my figure – and my self-esteem – that I had to have more.
It’s kind of like when you get that first bottle of well-produced, top-line wine. Or you try that first bite of extremely expensive French restaurant food. You can’t have it all the time, but you can’t go back either. So what do you do?
